Madrid, 13 December 2017- Chemo's plant in Azuqueca de Henares, Liconsa, has just won the award for the most innovative company in the 2nd Edition of the Business Merit Awards that are presented every year by the Regional Government of Castilla-la Mancha.
These awards recognise the best business practices and highlight the companies that have made a notable contribution to the development of economic activity in this region, serving as a paragon in their respective fields.
With its two plants in the region, Liconsa and Universal Farma, Chemo has been proclaimed as the company that works hardest to continue innovating and introducing state-of-the-art technologies, making it a leader in the La Mancha region and Spain.
Chemo's Director of Pharma Operations, José Prieto, was presented with the award by the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García Page.
Liconsa is a centre engaged in the research, development and production of drugs for the main therapeutic areas, manufacturing over 300 different high-tech pharmaceutical dosage forms.
Innovation has been and remains a key driver of its growth. The company has always been committed to investment in R&D, seeking to develop new pharmaceutical products and optimise manufacturing processes.
A good illustration of this is the recent opening of a new injectable drugs plant in Azuqueca de Henares, Universal Farma.
The Liconsa industrial plant has also recently received various awards and prizes for being the company of the greatest economic importance, the one that creates the most jobs (600 employees) and also for its strong commitment to Guadalajara and its citizens.
In this respect, it is actively involved as a sponsor in local events such as the Azuqueca Half Marathon, the San Silvestre race, the Guadalajara Film Festival and, of course, in supporting the Azuqueca football team.
CHEMO is an industry leader in the research, development and manufacturing of a wide variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and a full range of finished dosage form (FDFs), for human and veterinary use and for the main therapeutic areas. Chemo is part of the Spanish multinational INSUD PHARMA, a robust group with a strong commitment to investing in all of the areas in which it operates.
